Happy Father’s Day

We are well into the summer months now which might mean you can take some time off, slow down a bit – and celebrate Father’s Day this coming weekend!  Even if you aren’t a dad, or can’t spend the day with yours, it’s always fun to have a reason to try out some new fun activities.  Read on for some inspiration – we hope it helps you and your loved ones to have a great holiday weekend!

Dog friendly hiking

Dogs are a man’s best friend, right?!  For this Dad’s Day newsletter, we are making a special point to highlight dog-friendly hikes. To clarify, none of these local area hikes require a dog but in the event you want to bring a dog along, they will all be dog-friendly and provide lots of Sunday fun!

Stern Grove Festival

Summer Sundays at the Stern Grove Festival mean free 2pm concerts!  Sunday June 19th will feature Toro y Moi. Ticket reservations open 12 days in advance, so if you can’t snag tickets for Father’s Day itself, flag this idea as something to give as a gift to the dad in your life (or the whole family!) as the summer moves along.

Car show

Gilroy is about as far south as you can get without leaving the Bay Area, but the trek is worth it when it comes to seeing over 200 fantastic classic cars! Head south to the ‘Garlic Capital of the World’ on Saturday June 18th to see the Garlic City Car Show. This event is sure to have lots of great energy as it returns after a 2-year hiatus!

 Ball game

We’re not implying that all dads like baseball, but some do, and it’s always fun to check out a home game. The Giants are in Pittsburgh this weekend, but you can hop on the BART and head over to the East Bay to see the Oakland A’s play the Kansas City Royals in a three-game series that starts on Friday the 17th and continues until Father’s Day.  Pack some sunblock, and head on over to the RingCentral Coliseum!

At Beacon Physical Therapy, we would like to wish all of the dads out there a Happy Father’s Day! We support our patients in leading a healthy life and establishing a healthy lifestyle. We’d love to meet you and get you back to doing what you love.
