Fun and Active Things to do This Mother’s Day

Even though we typically have mild weather here in the Bay, some days it can really feel like spring has sprung!  The sun falls at a different angle, the flowers just seem a little brighter, and the urge to get outside and do things grows stronger!  Today, we’re inspired by Mother’s Day (which really could be every day) with some ideas for fun family activities to check out this weekend.  Read on for some inspiration – we hope it helps you and your loved ones to have a bright, springy holiday!

Hiking

The Urban Adventure Club always has a variety of fun events planned, but this Mother’s Day, they are holding a hike that sounds fun and reasonably accessible for a range of ability levels. Check out the link below – you don’t need to be a club member to join!

Catching views

Tucked into the Golden Gate Park Music Concourse is a 150-foot ride with fabulous views. Installed in 2020, the historic Sky Star will only be here in the city until March 2025. Unless anyone in your crew gets cold feet when on high, this seems like a fun way to spend some weekend quality time!

Dance in the Garden

We’re not sure of a better way to honor Mother Nature on Mother’s Day than to spend some time dancing in the San Francisco Botanical Garden.  Check out this special family-friendly dance event, it looks super fun!

Living Vicariously

Finally, neither of these things is necessarily active (we usually like to get up and move ourselves) but they are both really active things to watch!  The Giants play the St. Louis Cardinals at Oracle Park and San Francisco Ballet wraps up a run of Swan Lake at the War Memorial Opera House. These are two really different events (and likely to appeal differently to members of your family) – but we think either one might be very worth your time and money!

At Beacon Physical Therapy, we support our patients in leading a healthy life and establishing a healthy lifestyle. We’d love to meet you and get you back to doing what you love.
