Employee Spotlight of the Week

Today’s blog is another feature on one of our incredible employees during their birthday week. We are a close-knit team here at Beacon Physical Therapy and enjoy celebrating one another when we get the chance. This week happens to be our Administrative Assistance, Susan Sanchez’s birthday. If you happen to visit Beacon on Tuesday or Thursday, then you more than likely have been able to have a cheerful conversation with Susan.

Susan has been with us at Beacon for nearly 6 years and we are beyond grateful to have her. Prior to joining the Beacon PT team, Susan worked in healthcare as a nurse. She worked in various different settings including Intermediate Ortho-Trauma, Pediatrics and Hospice. Please help us celebrate Susan and wish her a happy birthday!

Here is some Q&A to learn more about Susan during her birthday week!

  1. Hometown:  I grew up in New Orleans where my mother was studying languages at St. Mary’s Dominican college and my father had just graduated from LSU and started work in Accounting at Allis-Chalmers. When they divorced in 1981, I was 11 and moved between the two of them, splitting my time between Santa Fe, NM and Atlanta, GA.
  2. Cat or dog person: I prefer dogs, though I’ve never owned my own dog. My husband owned 2 dogs; a poodle named Pierre and a pug named Shaanxi.  I’ve owned 2 cats, Pistol Pete & Councilman Meow.
  3. Favorite meal (feel free to include where, and with whom) Breakfast.  I’ll Eat breakfast anytime of the day.  Quintin and I enjoy introducing each other to new restaurants and most of the time they’re breakfast spots.
  4. What are three things you like to do when you have downtime:  I like to do creative things like knitting and crocheting, jewelry making and painting. I also like to be outside; I’ve walked dogs for Wag! for the last 4 years. I have a couple of regulars who I get out with a few times a week, though I’ve lost a couple in the last few months when their owners moved out of the city.
  5. Favorite lesser-known spot/activity in the Bay Area: Outdoor yoga, The Grove next to the Queen Wilhelmina Tulip Garden, Golden Gate Park.

At Beacon PT, we make it our mission to support our patients in establishing and maintaining a happy and healthy lifestyle, personalized for you.  That includes making meeting and making social connections with Susan, one of those people who just can’t help but make you feel special. If it’s your first or 50th time that you call to schedule an appointment, Susan will get you set up and take care of you as if you were family. See you soon – we take pride in getting you back to doing what you love!
